New Bride Top Tips #14

Today’s Top Tip’s and favourite picture(s) come from Sarah & Mada. Sarah and Mada were married on the 30th July last year at St Andrews Church on Richmond Hill Bournemouth Dorset. It was a beautiful day although there had been several heavy showers in the morning, the last significant one was just as Sarah arrived at the church, but she made it inside okay and from then on the sun shone. After the ceremony we proceeded over the road to the lovely Bournemouth gardens for the family formals, before heading off to the Harbour Heights Hotel in Poole Dorset for the reception. A little later Sarah, Mada and I slipped away down to Sandbanks beach in Poole for a little quiet time and to capture a few lovely sunset images, it was truly a lovely relaxed day, just the way it should be.

This is what Mada and Sarah had to say…

Hi Courtenay,

It was so nice catching up with you. There were so many beautiful photos in our album it was almost impossible to choose but in the end we narrowed them down to two favourites.

Top Tips:

1. Things might go wrong during the preparations and levels of anxiety might rise, but rest assured your day will be amazing and memorable.

2. Unless you are an expert at tying bows for cars, then best to ask your florist to do them for you at least a couple of day before the big day.

3. Take a few moments together to soak in the atmosphere and savour the moment a number of times throughout the day; it will go very quickly!

All the best,

Mada & Sarah

Eshoot with Rebecca & Josh – Sturminster Newton Water Meadows & Mill Dorset

So a nice sunny day for a change and down to the local water meadows and famous Mill in Sturminster Newton Dorset for Rebecca and Josh’s eshoot. We got a bit muddy, but no one minded as it was all in good fun. Rebecca and Josh are getting married very soon at Washbourne Court in Lower Slaughter Gloucestershire, fingers crossed for another fine sunny day.

New Bride Top Tips #12

Today’s Top Tips and favourite picture (or in this case I should say picture’s!) come from Carissa and Marc. Carissa and Marc were married on New Years Eve at the lovely Leez Priory in Essex. It was absolutely freezing and we even had some snow later on during the evening reception. But the atmosphere was a very warm one indeed, Carissa and Marc were an absolutely fab couple so full of energy and fun and an absolute dream to photograph as they were up for anything. The day ended for me just after the stroke of midnight when a beautiful firework display lit up the crisp night sky and Happy New Year resounded all about.

This is what Carissa and Marc (well mostly Carissa) had to say…

Hey Courtenay

We just couldn’t decide on one favourite picture, three was hard, no in fact it was impossible, so we narrowed it down to six…just!!

So here are the ones that are our total favourite’s (or should I include…!) ;-)

Three top tips:

1/ Always plan to be ready an hour before you are due to leave for the ceremony as you are more than likely to overrun!

2/ Control any very small bridesmaids with hidden treats such as chocolate buttons….white ones seem to work the best!

3/ Drink alternate alcohol and water and you are more likely to remember the day (and not fall over!)

Best wishes

Carissa & Marc

New Bride Top Tips #11

So today’s favourtite picture and Top Tips come from Adele and Larry who were married on the 5th September last year. Adele and Larry got married in St Andrews Church in the picturesque village of Blagdon in Somerset and then it was back to Larry’s family home and a huge curtain marquee for their reception. The theme of the wedding was ‘Festival’ and Adele and Larry‘s day certainly lived up to it with face painting, fire eating and fab live bands to name but a few of the things going on.
Today we have two sets of tips as Adele and Larry decided to respond to us separately, funnily enough though, they both picked the same picture before they realised they had…must be fate!

Hi Courtenay

My favourite image is this one..

The dress in the English countryside looks awesome and we’re walking away from the wedding into marriage.

Tips: Keep calm and carry on. Use your friends as much as possible to keep costs down. Choose the top two or three things that are most important to you and concentrate time and money on those.

Cheers
Larry

Hi Courtenay,

My favourite image is the same as Larry’s and for the same reason: The church wedding is only the starting point of our marriage and we’re heading out into the rest of our lives.

My top tips for brides would be:

1) Forget what the books say about what your wedding ‘should’ be like and decide what kind of wedding will reflect your personality as a couple.

2) Ask friends and family for help to keep costs down but hire serving staff so they can relax on the day.

3) Don’t waste your wedding day being stressed. Of all people, you’re the one who should be enjoying it!

Thanks for all your hard work, you really captured our day beautifully.

Best wishes

Adele.

The Happy Couple… well Groom anyway!

Well we love it when our couple’s are enthusiastic about about their wedding, perhaps this guy takes it to the next level though! Well at least his bride can’t complain he wasn’t keen ;-)

Eshoot with Marnie & Ben Montacute House Somerset

Had a great Eshoot today with Marnie and Ben, they live in the village of Montacute so it was very natural to just pop over the road to the fabulous Montacute House for their shoot, what a backdrop! We had a few heavy showers but it didn’t spoil our fun and in fact the dramatic skies just added an extra dimension to some of their pictures. Marnie and Ben are getting married soon at the lovely Summer Lodge in Dorset, can’t wait!
