Combe Lodge Somerset Wedding of Joanna & Lee

Last Saturday I set off to Midsomer Norton to Joanna’s family home to meet up with the girls for the morning fun and usual Bridal preparations. A bit grey to start, but the sun soon poked its head through, a fine day ahead assured :-)

Next it was a trundle to St Michaels Church in Compton Martin, a beautiful Church indeed (if you ever get the chance to visit I thoroughly recommend it) and there I met up with Lee and the boys. Soon Joanna made her arrival and it was down the aisle to marry her man. A very lovely service and Mr and Mrs Cornwall exited into the summer sun, showered with a plethera of confetti and then happy couple escaped into the peacefulness of their wedding car and headed off to the reception.

On to Combe Lodge in Blagdon Somerset for the reception, a beautiful country house. Summer sunshine, Pimms, canapes, good company good humour, relaxation for all and a time to catch up and wish congratulations. A few family photographs achieved, some more mingling and then some quiet itme for Joanna and Lee and an opportunity for me to photograph them on their own.

Insside now and a wonderful wedding breakfast followed by some hilarious speeches, (I felt like I was back at school!) and of course the traditional cutting of the wedding cake. The room cleared, band set up and time for the first dance…not the end though as proceedings are interupted and we are asked to evacuate the building for safety reasons!! Actually its a ploy to fool the lovely Joanna who has no idea her new husband has planned a suprise firework display…fabulous!

What a wonderful day indeed :-)

Beaulieu Hampshire Wedding of Jenny & Adam

Saturday was another lovely sunny warm summers day and I was off to shoot the wedding of Jenny and Adam at The Domus at Beaulieu in Hampshire. But first to Jenny’s family home in Burley to capture the usual morning girls preparations… and then time to move on to Beaulieu for the rest of the day’s celebrations.

Upon arriving at Beaulieu I caught up with Adam and his family all who have all come over from the United States of America (yes Adam is from the USA!) and soon everyone was bustled inside to await the arrival of the Bride.

Jenny arrived at Beaulieu in a lovely vintage car made her declarations known to the registrars and soon began the procession down the aisle to her waiting Groom. A lovely ceremony and then Mr and Mrs Thomas-Dray exited into the Domas courtyard and summer sun, man and wife at last.

Laughter, champagne, canapes and fun on a lovely lazy summers afternoon, a few family formal and then some quiet time away from the madding crowd for Jenny and Adam to capture a few more romantic images for the album.

Time to head back into the Domus for the wedding breakfast followed by the cutting of the wedding cake and the official wedding speeches. Whilst the room upstairs was turned around for the evening Jenny Adam and I took the opportunity to make the most of the balmy summers evening and wander down to the estuary river for a few more romantic images and to catch a nice little welcome breeze!

Time to head back to the Domus again and Jenny and Adam took to the dance floor for their first official dance as man and wife.

Another lovely day :-)

Maunsel House Somerset Wedding of Jayne & Paul

Last Thursday saw me heading back to the very lovely Maunsel House in Somerset for the wedding of Jayne and Paul. The sun was out a perfect warm sunny summers day, just right for an outdorrs wedding ceremony. On arrival I headed up to the Kings room to find Jayne and the girls, then off outside as Jayne was whisked away out the back door to arrive in style down  Maunsels fab front drive in a lovely Horse and carriage. A lovely ceremony in the bandstand and then Jayne and Paul headed off for a little perambulation in their Horse and Carriage…and why not.

Arriving back to their awaiting guests, canapes and Pimms on the lawn, a few family formal photo’s and some quiet ones just for Jayne and Paul. All too soon its time to head into Maunsel House itself for the wedding breakfast followed by the traditional speeches, cutting of the wedding cheesecake! and of course coffee and mints to follow.

Time now for Jayne and Paul to take their first dance as husband and wife and then for me to leave the proceedings and let them dance the night away.

Orestone Manor Devon Wedding of Sarah & Lee

Saturday saw me heading down to deepest darkest Devon to meet up with Sarah and Lee for their wedding. A fairly unique ocasion for me, as I hadn’t met either Sarah or Lee before! Why I hear you say, well because they hadn’t been in the UK since booking me, in fact they booked me from Qatar which is where they both live and work and which is where they met too!

Anyway first to find Sarah and the girls for the usual preparations for the big day. Not the best of days, fairly wet, but as I arrived the rain stopped and the sun made a valiant attempt at showing itself through the clouds. From Sarah’s my next stop, St Andrews Church in the lovely village of Stokenteignhead (try saying that fast a dozen times over ;-) ) and to the local pub to catch up with Lee and the boys.

Soon its time to head up the steep hill to the Church, Sarah arrives and a lovely ceremony to follow. Out now and off to the next and final location for today, the lovely Orestone Manor in Maidencombe Torquay, this is our setting for the wedding reception. Sunshine…perfect, a few family formals and then just relaxing with fiends and family before its time to head in for the wedding breakfast.

Cake cutting and speeches to follow and not before long the evening is upon us and time for the first dance for Sarah and Lee :-)

Sunninghill Berkshire Wedding of Karen & Peter

Last Saturday saw me head to Sunninghill in Berkshire for the wedding of Karen and Peter.

Karen and Peter have a story, its a long one and complicated, but to cut a long story short they both have children, Karen two girls, two boys, Peter three girls from previous relationships..they now also have found each other and its love..what more needs to be said.

Off to visit Karen first, a busy house bussling with girls everywhere (fine by me!), and Bridal preparations of course.

Then to the Church, to meet up with Peter and the boys and to wait for Karen to arrive. And so to a wonderful ceremony packed with music and love and then Mr and Mrs Harris exit into the summer sunshine. A little mingling in the Church yard and then Karen and Peter take off for ten minutes for a ride in the vintage Bridal car, whilst everyone else is piped (yes  there was a piper) round to the rear of the Church down a little lane to the wonderful Marquee set up in a picturesque setting behind the Church.

Karen and Peter arrive back and the champagne flows and a suprise rendition from the choir. After a few family formal pictures and some qiet ones with Karen and Peter its time to head into the marquee for the wedding breakfast, speeches and cutting of the cake.

Evening time, Karen and Peter are invited to the floor by the band for their first dance and then the floor fills with guests as the tempo is raised, more guests arrive to enjoy the fun and the chocolate fountain!

Another lovely wedding :-)
