Real Bride Top Wedding Tips

We are a bit spoiled today with our real brides top tips…Today we have a double header!!! Sarah and Andrew Ford have each decided to do their own tips and favourite picture, perhaps they were trying to get two entries into the canvas competition! ;-)

Sarah and Andrew were married on the 15th May 2010 in the lovely city of Wells. To see their Somerset Wedding story on our blog click the following link…. Somerset Wedding.

First here is Andrew…

Hi Courtenay,
Here is my favourite photo…

I feel this is the best photo as it captures how much love we have for each other. I feel it oozes passion, and how you managed to get the sun to shine through was just breath taking! This will be a day I will never forget as your photos tell the story of our day and capture the moment!

Three top tips I can give are:

Number one.  Would be always get the best photographer….. (courtenay!)
Number two. Would be try and relax and take in the day as it goes so fast!
Number three. Don’t worry about making others happy, it’s your day and it’s the two of you that must be happy!
Best wishes
Andrew

And now Sarah…….

Hi Courtenay,
I’ve done it!! I have made a choice, confession though I couldn’t pick one I found two!!
First is this one….

It always makes me smile when I look back at it. I feel it shows the true love we have for each other captured in that moment.
The next is this one…..

This one it makes me think in 30/40 years time we could be sat on that same bench looking out across the catherdral green and remembering our special day. Every single photo captured the moment and tells the story of our special day, a day that will be with us forever.
My 3 top tips:
1. The first thing to book is your photographer, Courtenay is very much in demand and you don’t want to be disappointed.
2. For all you brides, do try on dresses you think you don’t like you might surprise yourself, as we all know dresses look very different when on than on the hanger!
3. Enjoy your special day.. its true what they say, that it goes so fast it passes you by, so relax and take it all in.
See you soon Courtenay

Cheddar Gorge Somerset Wedding of Rebecca & James

Last Saturday I headed off to Cheddar Gorge in Somerset for the wedding of Rebecca & James.

I arrived at Rebecca’s family home, (the scene for the celebrations later in the day) for the usual Bridal preparations and then headed off to the Catholic Church in Cheddar to catch up with James and his merry men, oh and Best woman!

Soon Rebecca arrived at the church looking lovely and processed down the aisle to James, a lovely ceremony including Catholic Mass and communion and then back out into the glorious Autumn sunshine.

Off to the reception, a lovely large marquee in one of Rebecca’s families fields, a fantastic setting for a great day. Sunshine, canapes and champagne all washed down with laughter and outdoor games for the children, big and small!

A few family formals and some quieter moments for Rebecca and James and then time to head into the marquee for the wedding breakfast. After dinner the usual wedding speeches and then cutting of the scrumptious looking wedding cake. A little more gentle milling after dinner and then time to head back into the marquee for Rebecca and James first dance. The DJ then turned up the volume as well as the tempo and the dance floor filled and moved to the music. Time for our DJ to take a well earned rest, but no break in the entertainment as our band for the evening “Ouch” took over the proceedings and  the marquee rocked once more.

A few images from Rebecca and James day…

1st Wedding Anniversary Congratulations

Happy first anniversary today to Adele and Larry Jarrett-Kerr.

Larry and Adele were married at St Andrews Church in Blagdon Somerset and then went back to Larry’s family home for a fantastic festival reception under a sail marquee. The reception was full of colour with fire juggling, face painting a great reggae band and wonderful Caribbean food, what a great day.

I hope your anniversary is equally as colourful and filled with fun.

Best wishes
