Maunsel House Somerset Wedding of Mel & Crispin

Last Monday saw me head back to the fabulous Maunsel House in Somerset for the wedding of Mel and Crispin.
A lovely sunny day, perfect for an outdoors ceremony. First upstairs to the Kings room for Bridal preparations and then back out into the gardens to the bandstand to join Crispin in waiting for his bride to arrive. A lovely ceremony, followed by pimms and canapes, the formal photographs and a quiet wander with Mel and Crispin for some romantic shots.
Back inside now for the wedding breakfast followed by the tradtional speeches, cutting of the cake and of course coffee and mints. All too soon its time for Mel and Crispin to take to the dance floor for their official first dance before the DJ can then step up the tempo for everyone to dance the night away.

Earlier today, I me up with Jayne and Paul for their eShoot. Both being outdoors kind of people and Jayne just qualifying as a P.E. Teacher we though it would be fun to do something a bit different to do with their outdoors lifestyle…so off to the local Park we went!
Jayne and Paul are getting married at Maunsel House in Somerset on the 21st August, no climbing frames then though

The other day I met up with Mel and Crispin for their eShoot, it wasn’t the greatest of day’s weather wise, (which was a shame considering the sun we have had lately), but Mel really wanted to get outside for some pictures. So we popped down to Sturminster Mill and despite the weather being a bit Grey and drizzly we had some great fun and caught some fab pictures too.
Mel and Crispin are getting married on the 6th June at the lovely Maunsel House in Somerset, lets hope the weather is better then as they hope to marry outside in the lovely bandstand.

Maunsel House – Wedding Planning Guide 2011

Today I would like to introduce you to the lovely Kirsty from Maunsel House in Somerset. Maunsel House is one of my favourite venue’s for a wedding,not only is the location itself absolutely fab, the staff are extremely lovely too!

Here are my top tips on choosing a wedding venue:
Always a good idea to check out the back drop for photos make sure there are lots of different places to have photos taken. At Maunsel we not only have the lawns we also have lakes, bandstand, pergola and medieval yard to choose from and the magnificent tree lined drive is a spectacular setting for photographs as well as all the wonderful opportunities in the house. We always make photographers welcome and help them in any way we can to get the best shots of the day and recommend them coming to Maunsel to do a recce or indeed a pre- wedding shoot with us.
I think it is very important that you like and trust your wedding planner and other staff members at your venue. they are going to be with you on the day and a good wedding planner will take away all the stress and guide you through the minefield of planning a wedding. They will make suggestions and help you put together a running order for the day which means that nothing gets forgotten and is a great help when talking to suppliers.
At Maunsel we send out lots of hopefully helpful information to help brides and grooms as much as possible and this includes our recommendations list of suppliers like photographers, cake makers florists etc. we also send out a collection of suggested readings for ceremonies and our ready reckoner for drinks quantities so that if they opt to bring in their own alcohol they are not buying too much or too little! We have our local b+b/hotel guide,taxi list and Kirsty’s top tips on saving money on your wedding, which is always gratefully received!
If you are looking for a fab venue for your wedding, I think you will find that Maunsel House has to be right up there on your list of choices. Go and have a chat with them and a really good look round, I promise you, you won’t be disappointed.

1st wedding Anniversary Congratulations!

Big first wedding anniversary congratulations today to Michelle and Chris Regent, who married a year ago at the fabulous Maunsel House in Somerset. What a fantastic day it was, a real party atmosphere, we even had a full sized stuffed bear in the line up!
