The Vyne in Spring an eShoot with Claire & Paul

Yesterday, I traveled back to the lovely Vyne in Hampshire near Basingstoke to meet up with Claire and Paul for their eShoot. We really couldn’t of picked a better day as the sun was out, it was wonderfully warm and we were surrounded by beautiful scenery, perfect.

Claire and Paul are getting married on the 2nd July in North Wales and holding their reception at the lovely Brynkinalt Hall I’m really looking forward to it.

The Vyne Basingstoke Hampshire eshoot of Lisa & Ben

Yesterday I took a little trip to Basingstoke in Hampshire to meet up with Lisa and Ben for their eshoot. We met at the fabulous Vyne now owned by the National Trust but formally a Tudor home built for Lord Sandys Henry V111′s Lord Chamberlain. It was a beautiful sunny summers day and we took our time wandering around the fabulous gardens catching up on the details of their wedding which is coming up very soon at the wonderful Combe House in Devon. Oh and we got some lovely pictures too!

Beaulieu Hampshire Silver Wedding Anniversary of Pat & Alistair

So I was very pleased a little while ago to be asked to cover the silver wedding anniversary, of Pat and Alistair Asher. A couple of weeks ago one very sunny warm evening I drove down to Beaulieu in Hampshire to the wonderful Domus (the setting for this evenings events) where I found Pat and Alistair ready to greet their guests for an evening of celebration to mark 25 years of wonderful marriage. Pat and Alistair had decided to have their evening captured in my usual informal style as this sort of thing was just not available to them 25 years ago when they got married and they just wanted relaxed natural pictures of the proceedings.

A fine sunny evening then as I mentioned before, and soon the courtyard of the Domus was full of Pat and Alistair’s guests drinking Champagne, Pimms and enjoying good company and canapes. An hour or so of fun conversation and catching up with friends and family, it was then time to head into the Domus itself for a celebration meal. Before tucking into the scrumptious feast Alistair made a funny and touching speech regaling tales of his and Pat’s first meeting, subsequent wedding and the wonderful 25 years of marriage so far. After dinner, the band started up and everyone danced the night away, a lovely evening indeed, congratulations Pat and Alistair on 25 years of marriage.

Gordleton Mill Hampshire Wedding of Rebecca & Mark

So the other day I headed off to Gordleton Mill in Hampshire for the wedding of Rebecca and Mark. The day started out a bit patchy with the odd light shower, sunny bits in between, hoping the day is going to stay fine as Gordleton Mill have a licence to marry outside on the veranda which is very lovely. Arriving at the Mill just after a very heaver shower (oh,Oh!) I head straight up to Rebecca’s room to cover the usual morning preparations. Soon we are joined by the most gorgeous little bridesmaids, a grand old age of 3 years each, looking very beautiful in their little white dresses with pearly head bands. Eventually prep time is over and I leave Rebecca looking lovely in her wedding gown waiting for the visit from the registrars to head downstairs to find Mark the Groom.

Looks like I’m in luck, the clouds have cleared, we have beautiful blue skies and warm early summer sunshine. I head out onto Gordleton Mills lovely Mill stream veranda and find Mark and his best man Dave patiently waiting for the forthcoming proceedings. Guest have now taken their places in seats along the waters edge and are also eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Bride. At last Rebecca, her father and their entourage of Bridesmaids and page boy  make their way downstairs and head out into the gardens, and gradually process towards the waiting Groom, Mark.

A lovely ceremony filled with laughter, the official registers signed, Rebecca is presented with the marriage certificate and soon Mr and Mrs Britton are exiting to the lovely gardens of Gordleton Mill, husband and wife!

Warm summer sun, beautiful meandering riverside gardens full of wonderful colours and smells, Pimms and strawberries and the gentle rippling of laughter combine to make the perfect afternoon. A few family formal pictures quickly captured and then Rebecca, Mark and I, slip away from the crowd for a little quiet time and to capture some romantic images for their album.

All too soon, its time to head indoors for the wedding breakfast, the sun is now low behind the trees and dusk is upon us. A delightful meal, followed by the traditional wedding speeches and of course the cutting of the wedding cake.

After dinner our evening entertainment arrive and begin to set up, the bar fills and the evening  jolliment begins. Rebecca, Mark and I use this opportunity to disappear again for 5 minutes to capture a few more intimate images and then it’s time to go back inside the Mill where their band for the evening is waiting for them. To the dance floor then, and the first official dance as Mr and Mrs Britton, the band then kicks in and the floor fills to rock the night away.

Another lovely day, another lovely couple, I love my job :-)

Plan Your Wedding: Insider Info – What’s Hot for 2010 by Sandra of Heartfelt Ceremonies

Hi everyone, I hope you had a great bank holiday weekend? I have certainly had a busy one, dashing up and down the country covering some lovely weddings! More to come on those on these pages very soon! In the meantime to continue our current theme of articles from professional wedding suppliers, today i would like to introduce you to Sandra Cook from Heartfelt Ceremonies. Sandra having been an officiant of the registrar for Dorset for many years, decided to set up her own company offering a diverse service giving couples the choice on how and where to hold their special ceremony. Anyway here is Sandra to tell you more…

If you could choose anywhere at all to say ‘I do’ where would it be?  Would you know the perfect place or do you need some suggestions?  Heartfelt Ceremonies gives you the freedom to make the choices that will create a completely unique celebration.  Guests will tell you that they have never been to a ceremony as meaningful and enjoyable, and friends will ask how they can hold a personal ceremony of their own. Follow this link to see a selection of comments http://www.heartfelt-ceremonies.co.uk/testimonials.html

(A Personal outdoor ceremony in the Gardens of Gordleton Mill from the wedding of Christine & Daniel last year)

Heartfelt Ceremonies was created in 2005 by Sandra Cook, with the desire to give customers what they ask for – a unique way to celebrate their wedding, renewal of vows, baby welcoming and adoption ceremonies.  She says Yes to all requests, that means you get to say where, when and how to make your vows and promises.  Latest trends have shown that clients love to involve as many guests as possible by asking them to take part in their ceremony, with performances such as dancing, singing, reading, making speeches and making jokes.  Many couples love to surprise their audience with unusual guests (moving statues dressed as angels moving around the trees in a midnight forest ceremony), or ask their guests to contribute secretly (several guests standing up during the ceremony to offer their ‘worldly advice’ to the newly weds by using well known or funny quotes). Follow this link to see some excellent examples http://www.heartfelt-ceremonies.co.uk/giggles.html

The most interesting trend is that my customers are not afraid to break from tradition and to use their celebration as a way to show their guests their true feelings by being able to express their own characters.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Best wishes

Sandra

Rhinefield House Hampshire Wedding of Sam and Darren

You can now view Sam & Darren’s Rhinefield House Wedding Album over on the main Wedding Photography site if you click here!

A beautiful sunny spring day and I’m off to Rhinefield House in the New Forest for the wedding of Sam and Darren. I have been looking forward to this wedding for some time, Sam and Darren are so much fun and I know that their day is going to be a reflection of their personalities – a big plus is that Sam also loves the camera!

On arrival I head straight up to the honeymoon suite to find Sam, her Bridesmaid Hayley, and Sam’s Mum already getting into the early preparations. The mood is light and all is very calm indeed, so I cover the usual details and the all important getting ready shots, and I have plenty of time to head downstairs to photograph the beautiful setting for the ceremony and to pop into Darren’s room to get a few cheeky shots of the boys getting ready too. Its back upstairs and time for Sam to slip into her most beautiful gown; last minute hair and lippy checks and time to away downstairs to make her grand entrance – what a stunning picture she makes too.

I head into the Great Hall to find a very smart but nervous looking Darren waiting for his lovely Bride, and soon the wait is over as the music begins to play and Sam enters the room, gliding gracefully down the aisle on the arm of her stepfather Earle towards her waiting man. The ceremony is fairly short but a very romantic affair, official registers signed and soon Sam and Darren exit the Grand Hall triumphantly, Mr and Mrs Morgan at last.

Out into the beautiful gardens and the warm sunshine – drinks and canapes on the terrace, and a very relaxed atmosphere indeed. After some mingling it’s time for the few traditional family formal pictures to be taken, and then Sam, Darren and I slip away for a short while to capture those more intimate photographs for their album.

All too soon it’s time for everyone to retreat back inside to take their places for the wedding breakfast. Speeches first, which I always think is a great idea – especially if you are not a keen public speaker, as it means once you have said your piece you can really relax and enjoy yourself. The speeches themselves ranged from the very touching to the hilarious, especially the wonderful pictorial history of Darren’s formative years – I’m sure he will be thanking his best men for a long time to come! After the speeches came the wonderful meal and then time for another wedding tradition, the cutting of the wedding cake.

Evening guests were now arriving, and everyone moved into the next room where the DJ had already set up, ready to start the evening festivities. Soon everyone was invited to form a large square round the dance floor, the large doors at the end of the room were flung open wide and Mr and Mrs Morgan make their last dramatic entrance of the day onto the dance floor for their first official dance as husband and wife. The evening continued with merriment, a video booth for those fun and quirky messages for the happy couple and the evening buffet was an excellent serving of chips in cones and fab bacon butties (Mmmm…). Sadly, at last it’s my time to bid farewell.

Did the day live up to my expectations? No – it surpassed them.

Congratulations Sam and Darren, I wish you all the happiness for the future. X
