It’s Good To Talk!

Now don’t get me wrong, I love to receive emails, text’s and the like, I’m getting my head around Facebook and Twitter too ;-) But sometimes its lovely to just have a good old fashioned conversation either face to face or over the phone, after all human beings were designed to be social creatures and its in our nature to communicate.

Now, this isn’t a moan or a nag, more of an assurance a settling of the mind and perhaps, well, a slight nag maybe ;-) Now I receive many enquiries for my services, which is lovely of course, and, I always do my utmost to answer those enquiries by return, it is very rare that it is more than a day later. However, sometimes those enquiries require more than just a simple email answer, in fact email won’t do at all, answers may be misunderstood or taken the wrong way or just simply too complicated to put down in email form. So on those occasions I look for the phone number attached to the email to give you a call, to make myself understood, to give you that vital information you have asked for or indeed the other way round so I can provide you with what you are looking for in the best way I can. And there in lies the problem… so many emails without a phone number, no means of physical contact! Okay so I email back, explain we need to talk in person and then……silence, nothing, Nada!! Why I ask, you have made a valid enquiry, I have done my best to help and we need to speak to help me to help you……. and you, run away and hide!

Now this is where the assurances come in… Your phone number: I don’t sell or pass it on to third parties, no nasty salesman will call, I promise I won’t breathe heavily or tell bad jokes. I won’t call you in the middle of the night and if the timing is inconvenient I will call back at a time that is convenient, to you! And, if after we have spoken you decide, that I’m not for you for whatever reason (it does happen you know, I know, sounds impossible doesn’t it ;-) ), well that’s the end of it, I won’t keep your number and make anonymous or rude calls to you or even send the boys round to rough you up. We simply part ways (sadly) and move on.

So come on guys and gals, put a phone number on your enquiry in case we need to have a chat, you never know, you might actually enjoy talking to another human being who after all is trying to help you out :-)

Best wishes

Lorton House Weymouth Dorset Wedding of Juliet & Ed

Last weekend saw me head off to a New venue again, the fab Lorton House just outside Weymouth. I arrived at Lorton House first for the usual preparations as that was where both Juliet and Ed were getting ready.

A lovely warm sunny day, and it was then off to Dorchester and the Church of St Mary’s for the marriage service, it was packed with Juliet and Ed’s family and friends, a lovely sight to see.

Back to Lorton House for Pimms, canape’s and a wander around the lovely grounds, a rogue shower threatened to spoil things but it soon blew away and we all processed to the large Marquee for the wedding breakfast. Speeches, cutting of the cake and coffee and soon time for the Bride and Groom to take to the dance floor for their first dance, then the Band rocked the night away!

Another wonderful day, congratulations Juliet and Ed have a great honeymoon, see you soon (but not too soon ;-) )

Highgate House Northamptonshire Wedding of Adrianna & Roy

You can now view Adrianna & Roy’s Highgate House Wedding Album over on the main Wedding Photography site if you click here!

Once upon a time a little girl arrived in England from the far flung shores of Australia searching for adventure. Little did she know what was in store, for her adventures were to lead her to the feet of her Prince Charming… and they lived happily ever after. The End

Last Thursday night I battled the wind and rain and traveled up to Northamptonshire. The next morning I awoke to find the weather in a much better frame of mind, breakfasted I traveled the last 10 or so miles to Highgate House near the village of Creaton. Today was the wedding of Adrianna and Roy, I had been looking forward to this for some time as AD as she affectionately known is definitely a Bride who is up for a great time. As soon as I arrived at Highgate house I made my way up to the honeymoon suite and was  greeted by a very excited Adrianna, I definitely know we are going to have a blast! Usual preps done and a little assisting with helping Adrianna get in her dress I then headed back downstairs into the gardens (the scene for today’s ceremony) to find Roy and the boys setting up the last details arranging chairs, casting rose petals on the ground  and the important music – all a  little challenging as the wind had decidedly got up!

Soon guest were arriving on the Lawn and the sun had also made an appearance although still very windy indeed. Registrar and Roy also now in place and Adrianna arrived to process down her rose petal garden aisle. A very lovely ceremony, full of laughter and love and then Mr and Mrs Stainwright led the procession away to Pimms and relaxation with family and friends.

Time to head indoors, a Tea Party.. a proper Tea Party, Bone China in a mixture of wonderful patterns, triangular cut  sandwiches and lovely cream and chocolate cakes all washed down with Tea or coffee and to top it off, Strawberries and Cream mmmm. Adrianna and her maid of honor made their speeches and then, Adrianna Roy and I slipped away for a little quite time for them to catch their breath and for me to capture some more romantic images for their album.

Back to the main house, and this time to the Baronial Hall, the wedding Breakfast. Roy made his speech first and then a wonderful course of roast beef and all the trimmings, then it was the turn of the Best Man to get to his feet after which pudding and coffee was served.

Evening guests, now arriving and its time to head to the drawing room, the cellar bar is doing a fine trade and everyone is enjoying themselves in a very relaxed atmosphere. The DJ then calls Adrianna and Roy to the dance floor and Fields of Gold sweeps them into their own world for 2 or 3 minutes, soon they are joined by other couples and the tempo is stepped up. Now Adrianna announces its time to throw the bouquet so we head to the lawn accompanied by all single and unmarried young ladies, the bouquet is tossed high and caught deftly by one of Adrianna’s Bridesmaids. Last official duty of the day for the married couple now, we head back into the Baronial Hall and Adrianna and Roy cut their wedding cake to much applause.

My time to head into the night now I have a long journey ahead of me, but I’ve had a great day a really great day, congratulations Adrianna and Roy I wish you all the happiness for the future.
