Lake View Manor Devon Wedding of Katie & Thomas

A beautiful mellow Autumn day, just right for a wedding! Off to Katie’s (the Bride) family home first for the usual Bridal preps, a lovely farm in the middle of nowhere (not for from Honiton I’m told) in deepest darkest Devon.

Next I drive on to the village of Chardstock (nr Axminster) where the couple will marry in the local parish church of St Andrews. I find the the Groom (Thomas) the rest of the boys and indeed quite a few guests at the local pub The George Inn, enjoying a few pre-wedding drinks (medicinal purposes only you understand ;-) ).
Its then time to head to St Andrews, for the guests and Groom alike to enter, take their places and await the arrival of the Bride. And indeed Katie did just that, in a vintage Rolls Royce. A lovely service followed and soon, the happy couple emerged from St Andrews Church into the lovely warm, mellow Autumn sunlight.

Off to the reception venue, a little drive across the Devon countryside to the lovely Lakeside Manor just outside the village of Dunkeswell (nr Honiton). Reception drinks flowed, the sun shone, outside for a few family photographs and a little quiet wander with the happy couple to capture a few quiet moments for their wedding album. All too soon, its time to head back inside Lakeview Manor for the wedding breakfast which is served inside the beautifully decorated marquee.
Meal formalities over with, speeches follow and soon evening guests are arriving. Time to cut the beautifully decorated wedding cake, and then straight into the large conservatory for the first dance as man and wife.
The first dance now complete the DJ steps up the tempo, I catch a little dance floor action, but it is all too soon to leave and I make my farewells.
A lovely wedding in a lovely location, and lovely Autumn sunshine – Bonus!

Orestone Manor Devon Wedding of Joanna & Simon

A small and intimate wedding at the lovely Orestone Manor near Teignworth in Devon. I arrived at the venue about an hour before the ceremony was due to begin (no Bridal preps this time), and met up with Simon (the groom), who was a little nervous if the truth be known. This had been somewhat of a whirlwind romance, Simon and Joanna, are both Teachers and had met through work and immediately fallen in love. Today they get to cement their relationship with an intimate wedding involving family and close friends.
At last Joanna arrived, assisted down the red carpet into Orestone Manor by her father doing his brolly duty as the weather had decided to turn a little damp at that precise moment.
A touching intimate ceremony followed, and then the celebration drinks flowed. The weather cleared and it was time to head out into Orestone Manors lovely gardens for a few family formal pictures and then a quiet wander with Joanna and Simon to capture a few quiet pictures.
The reception drinks drew to a close and it was time for everyone to head indoors for a lovely meal, cutting of the fantastic wedding cake and of course speeches.

Lewtrenchard Manor Devon Wedding of Angela & Paul

Angela & Paul must be one of our fastest-travelling couples – they contacted us while they were living in Australia, by the time they had completed the contract we had an address in Manchester, and we’ll now be sending the images to them in Cheshire!
Stuart had a great day at Lewtrenchard Manor – a stunning Jacobean manor house hidden away in Okehampton, Devon. For a good start the sun actually SHONE!!!
As everyone was getting ready in the same place, he was able to get the boys preparing as well as the girls, which is always nice. The ceremony was quite an emotional one, and then all the guests were able to go and enjoy a rare beautiful summers day in the grounds. A very peaceful afternoon was spent by the wedding party and their guests relaxing in the sunshine before heading in for dinner and speeches. The evening livened fast, however, with a great party – everyone was up and dancing to end the day on a high.

Combe House Devon Wedding of Francesca & Tatton

Francesca and Tatton finally sealed their love with a civil ceremony in the beautiful Combe House Hotel – A wildly romantic grade 1 Elizabethan manor in Gittisham, the very heart of the Devon countryside. After the civil ceremony, the Bride and Groom and all their guests, climbed aboard a vintage bus and made their way down to the parish church St Michaels for a blessing ceremony. This was a lovely idea and really added a little something extra to the days events. Its not often that you see a Bride and Groom in all their finery, entering a church together! The whole day was a real family affair, very relaxed and lots of fun. Even the weather behaved itself – well okay there was the occasional April shower (mostly in the morning though) to dodge, but for the most part the sun shone which just added icing to the cake. The families had taken over the whole hotel for the weekend, so there was no need to rush, the wedding breakfast was spread out over several rooms of the hotel and the couple moved from room to room eating a different course in each. A great idea and a fantastic way of making sure they could give all their guests proper attention. After the speeches in the Great Hall, Francesca and Tatton kicked off the evening festivities with their first dance followed by riotous dancing to a fantastic Ceilidh Band. What a great day!

Saunton Sands Hotel Devon Wedding of Nicola & James

Fremington and Saunton Sands were new locations for Stuart, so he drove down a couple of weeks before to have a good look round and see what was there. Nicola and James were a really fun couple at their pre-wed, so Stuart came back very excited: the access to the beach was perfect, and the beach itself was beautiful – all he hoped for was the weather!
The day started out wet and grey, and the shots of the guests going in to church featured many umbrellas.
Thankfully the rain had stopped by the time Nicola arrived at the church – and when they had reached the reception the grey skies were clearing fast.
They got the formals completed in the hotel grounds, and then a group of ‘the boys’ and ‘the girls’ headed off down to the beach, James gallantly carrying Nicola over a puddle on the way.
Everyone had a lot of fun on the sand – and in the water – before heading back up to the hotel for the evening party to begin.
