Cameron, Joe, Toby - Win Green Dorset

Went for a wander this weekend with the boys to one of our favourite spots, Win Green just outside Shaftesbury in Dorset. Its the highest point in the area and on a clear day you can see for miles around. It was a beautiful sunny winter day and not wanting to waste this rare occasion we set off for a good few hours. Now there is a track known as the Sheep Drove ( for fairly obvious reasons) which runs from Win Green right along a ridge line for about 20 or so miles ending in the city of Salisbury in Wiltshire. We weren't attempting to go that far today, might be just a bit too much for small legs! But a few miles would be good. After about twenty minutes or so we came across this burnt out car - a real eye sore in such a beautiful spot - but a perfect opportunity for me to get some great shots of the boys. The juxtaposition of the very urban burnt out car wreck with the stunning and serene Dorset countryside made for some very eye-catching shots.

Kirsty & Luke, The Barn and Norton Park Hotel

Luke and Kirsty are a fab couple, I actually did Luke's twin brothers wedding last year, so it was lovely to catch up with some familiar faces. Different venue from last year though - this time the venue was the fantastic thatched Barn at Norton Park Hotel. Kirsty had put an enormous amount of time and thought into the colours and decorations for her wedding, yellow Gerbera's and green apples, a brilliant and vibrant combination that worked so well on just so many levels.

Kirsty looked stunning in her dress, the ceremony itself, actually taken by one of Kirsty's relateives who is a registrar, was emotional but a relaxed affair. After the ceremony the couple and their guests retired to the beautiful gardens down by the picturesque lake for Pimms and Strawberries. The weather that had threatened to spoil the events had had a change of heart and the afternoon was mellow and warm, making it a perfect day.
The wedding breakfast was a wonderful affair and the speeches hilarious. The evening saw a mix of entertainment including a Caricaturist, Roulette and Blackjack Tables and a DJ that made sure the guests danced well into the night.

Nicole & Philip, Royal Chase Hotel

Nicole & Philip were victims of this really rubbish summer we're having - it absolutely lashed down with rain practically all day Saturday.
But thankfully, they were a fantastic couple who rose above the weather, and decided to ave a good time regardless.
The ceremony was at St Andrews Church at Okeford Fitzpaine, where the rain was so bad that Nicole had her bunched-up train wrapped in plastic to protect it from the elements - but was still laughing as she legged it into the church.
After the ceremony we moved on to the Royal Chase in Shaftesbury for the reception.
This was a change in venue for the couple, as they had originally planned to marry at Milton Abbey. The only downside of using the Royal Chase is the lack of gardens - though I didn't think in that weather we'd be worried too much.
As it turned out, however, Nicole and Philip were still keen to get outside, so I took them plus the best man and bridesmaid up to Win Green for some 'atmospheric' portraits. We did actually move high enough to get above the rain, but it was incredibly windy and stormy up there. But how fantastic Nicole & Philip were - we ended up having a lot of fun, they never stopped smiling, and they actually thanked me for taking them out in that weather!
