Summer Lodge Hotel Dorset Wedding of Anne & Brinsley

Anne and Brinsley are a really lovely couple and it was a pleasure to capture their special day for them. Being some of my more mature clients, Anne and Brinsley have found each other a little later in life than most of us, but none the less the love that they share is as strong as anyone I have met. Anne and Brinsley both live in Scotland and indeed Anne is very Scottish indeed, however they both decided to travel South to marry in Brinsleys family Church, which by looking at the plaques inside, has been the family seat for many generations. Their wedding was a very small affair, just a few family and friends attended, but the atmosphere was fun, relaxed, freindly and very full of love.
The day itself was a typical English winter day in December, a little damp, quite grey and overcast but fairly mild. I met Brinsley at the Church followed shortly by his best man, both in excellent spirits and looking forward to the day ahead.
Keeping with tradition Anne and her entourage arrived 10 minutes late! Still, there was no hurry, and soon Anne was parading down the Isle to marry Brinsley. A lovely service followed, both Anne and Brinsley took the readings and after their vows, exited triumphantly into the December weather outside.
Off to Summer Lodge Hotel for the reception, a few family photo’s and then a little wander with Anne and Brinsley in the lovely grounds to catch a few special intimate images.
A lovely intimate wedding, with a very large warm welcome, I was almost sad to leave…but with four small people at home eagerly awaiting their Daddy to start the Christmas holidays with them in the end, well lets just say it was no competition.
Congratulations Anne and Brinsley, it was a pleasure, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

Guyers House Wiltshire Wedding of Jenna & Daniel

Jenna & Daniel married last Saturday at the lovely Guyers House in Corsham (Wiltshire). Because everybody was getting ready in the one place, Stuart was able to catch both the girls and the boys preparations for a change – including the boys looking perplexed by some bunting thay had been tasked with putting up in the courtyard!
Sadly, the registrar did not allow any photography at all during the cermony, but Stuart managed to catch a few of Jennas entrance, and some nice ones together as they signed the register (NB – note to future brides – please do all in your power to persuade your registrar that a few discreet photographs are really essential to you. It’s the most important part of the day, after all, and does leave a sad hole in your album when you don’t have a single image of your vows. Different counties work under different rules, and Wiltshire registrars are often rather strict).
Jenna and Daniel had a brief quiet spell in the gardens with Stuart (the weather stayed fine, thankfully) for some nice romantic portraits before joining their guests for the formals, and then on in to the wedding breakfast.
Everyone had a really wonderful day, and the evening finished perfectly with a spectacular display of fireworks.

Priston Mill Bristol Wedding of Nina & Justin

Nina & Justin were a great couple to be with. In addition to their e-shoot, Nina had booked a Hush session with me which went really well, and meant that on the day she was completely relaxed with the camera. Her red shoes are definitely set to be a classic for this year – genius!

This early in the year the light can sometimes be a challenge, but the weather was fine and generally bright. Nina had a her make up and hair done in the middle of Bath in a large department store – good fun to shoot – and made Nina feel like a celebrity as the general public wandering in and out thought she was famous because a professional photographer was snapping away.

Justin and the boys all met up in a local famous restaurant Browns – had a hearty lunch then off to the church walking through the streets of Bath.

It was a lovely Catholic ceremony in St John the Baptist in Bath – the church was decorated beautifully, and the stunning candles were a theme which ran throughout the day.

The reception was at Priston Mill – a lovely old Mill Barn. It soon became very lively as the light faded, the band kicked in and everyone partied into the night.
