Whitstable Castle Kent Wedding of Liz & Martin

A small and intimate wedding, set at the lovely Whistable Castle in Kent,  a real family affair and a super large American car to boot, the lovely wedding of Liz and Martin I covered just recently.

Preparations at the family home to start, both bride and Groom in the same house getting ready along with the children, unusual perhaps, maybe not, either way its lovely and relaxed and all is happy. Off to Whistable Castle for the touching and very family orientated ceremony, Liz and Martin and the children arrive in a fab 1961 Ford Galaxy which you could almost live in! Vows exchanged as were the rings followed by a tender kiss and applause from all. Reception, time to mingle, family and friends congratulate the couple, much needed refreshment for all before its time to take places for the all important wedding breakfast. No proper formal speeches today, but rather a note of thanks to all from Martin and then time to stretch the legs and Liz, Martin and I take to the sunny gardens for some quieter moments.

The Orangery is the setting for the evening and a pianist tickles the ivories and once again the sound of laughter rises from the intimate family gathering as all settle in with champagne in hand.

A very lovely day indeed…congratulations Liz and Martin I wish you both much happiness.

A few pictures from the day, enjoy :-) ……

Eastwell Manor Kent Wedding of Sarah & Matthew

I arrived at Eastwell Manor Park near Ashford in Kent on a beautiful sunny late summers day, fantastic! I went immediately up to the Bridal suite to find the lovely Bride Sarah and her Bridesmaids already in full preparation swing. After a while I wandered downstairs to capture some of the details being laid out in the dinning room and the the formal gardens where the civil ceremony was to take place. Whilst in the garden I also caught up with Matthew (the Groom) and his ushers making last minute adjustments to details. Back upstairs now for final Bridal preps and the lacing up of the wedding gown.
After seeing Sarah down the lovely staircase, it was away to the gardens to await her arrival. And soon she was heading down the red carpet towards Matthew for the lovely ceremony.

To the terrace and main gardens, relaxing with Pimms and canapes in the really lovely summer sunshine (a real bonus considering the summer again this year – just like to say thanks to the weathermen here for their early barbecue summer tip off!! NOT!). Garden games, giant Jenga, croquet and just general good company and conversation. A few family formals and then a wander in the lovely grounds with Sarah and Matthew to give them a little break and to capture a few quiet moment pictures for their album.

Inside again now, and into the sumptuous dinning room for the reception meal, followed of course by the traditional speeches and cutting of the wedding cake. After dinner everyone vacated the dinning room and wandered across the lovely gardens to the annex buildings where the evening reception was to take place. Soon new guests were arriving and it then became time for Sarah and Matthew to take to the dance floor for their first dance. The DJ then picked up the tempo and the party began in earnest, until the late hours. A great day!

Battle Golf Club Kent Wedding of Amanda & Peter

Poor Amanda & Peter were forced into a change of venue just a month ago by the original hotel admitting they had double booked. Thankfully the Golf Club near Battle in Kent was available, and everything was back on track fairly quickly.
I haven’t been to Battle for a while, and it was lovely to re-visit the area. Amanda’s house was bursting at the seams with people in the morning – with some incredibly cute small people popping in and out in their wedding clothes.
St Mary’s Church in battle is a beautiful place, and the unusual mint green colour of the bridesmaids dresses was coupled with jaunty mini top hats, which looked great! The bright pastel colour theme was carried on to the reception venue, with multi-coloured butterfly’s on the tables, and a mint green wedding cake.
