Queens College Cambridge Wedding of Natasha & Charles

A wedding at Queens college Cambridge, fantastic location!

I needed to travel down the night before for this wedding as it was a fair distance and I would need to start early at the couples house for the usual Bridal preparations. Well the journey down was a complete nightmare, what should have taken me no more than 3 – 4 hours at most turned into an 8 hour marathon, mainly thanks to the largest car park

in the world, the M25 motorway! Things went from bad to worse with my booked accommodation at the local Travel Lodge (See this post ‘Oi Travel Lodge NO! for full details. It makes an interesting read!).
Still next morning off to the couples flat to find the lovely Bride Natasha and her entourage getting ready for the big day ahead. When I arrived I found all the girls dressed in Blue Scrubs! Of course they are all Doctors! I have to say I thought they looked great dressed that way and perhaps that should be the dress code for the rest of the day ;-) .
Anyway, prep shots done, off to Queens College to find Charles (the groom) and the rest of the boys, who were getting ready in rooms right opposite Queens College Chapel where Natasha and Charles were to be married later on that day.
Soon guests started to arrive and the Chapel began to fill. Back to the entrance of Queens college to await for the arrival of the Bride, who would make her entrance over the fantastic and historic Mathematical Bridge. Natasha and her Bridesmaids soon arrived and it was off to the Chapel for the lovely service.
The reception was held within the same grounds but in the Fellows Garden at Queens College, a large Marquee had been erected, right next to the river Cam and the atmosphere was set for the rest of the day. The sun was out, it was very warm indeed, punts traversed the river Cam and guests just mingled and drank Pimms in the lovely grounds. Natasha, Charles and I eloped from the madding crowd for a short while to capture some more intimate photographs for their album. Then it was back to the party, a fantastic meal in the marquee, followed by hilarious speeches. Evening guests started to arrive and the sun began to set over the College and its beautiful gardens. The first dance and then partying late into the night, what a great day! Oh and the journey home…just 2 and a half hours!!! :-)

Girton College Cambridge Wedding of Tania & Marc

Tania & Marc had a perfect setting for their wedding. Girton College in Cambridge is a truly beautiful building, and being a Jewish ceremony the couple weren’t restricted to a licenced location, so the ceremony was held in the gardens, making the most of the sunshine.
Everywhere was decorated with spectacular deep red roses, and the banquet hall interior was one of the most beautifully decorated I’ve seen, with masses of the roses, twisted wood and red candelabra. Completely breathtaking.
The wedding itself was an enormous family affair, of course, with a terrific band and traditional dancing adding to the atmosphere.
After the meal it was still so warm that for the speeches everyone moved outside into the courtyard, which was lit perfectly.
The whole wedding really felt like a big ‘occasion’, and on top of all that Tania and Marc were lovely and a joy to be with.
