Bishops Court Farm, Shapwick, Dorset – Wedding of Cat & James

Last week on a lovely sunny Autumnal day I headed off to Corfe Mullen and a little cottage that had been hired for Cat and her entourage to get ready for the day ahead. After the morning with the girls it was time to head on over to the village of Shapwick and the local pub to find James and the boys having a pre wedding lunch. There were a fair few guests around too as it was a great place to meet up, with the Church being only a couple of minutes walk away; in fact the venue for the rest of the day’s celebrations Bishops Court Farm is also only a few minutes walk from there too. Today’s celebrations are going to have a little bit of a military feel about them, because James is a pilot in the RAF. There is certainly a military guard of honour and a few other uniforms besides, James also has a Scottish heritage, so a fair few kilts including his own will also be on show today.

Soon it’s time to head over to St Bartholomew’s Church and settle in to await the arrival of the lovely Bride…. Cat made her grand entrance and a wonderful tender and happy ceremony followed. Out into the lovely sunshine through the guard of honour Mr & Mrs Hamilton made their exit to the waiting applauding crowd of friends, family and well-wishers.  Hearty congratulations all round, hugs and kisses and confetti strewn. Then, following the Piper, a lovely walk along the bank of the river Stour to Bishops Court Farm to find Champagne and canapés awaiting all.

Gentle relaxation in the lovely grounds of Bishops Court Farm, drinks by the gentle meandering river, laughter rippling across the lawns and orchards, the house and marquee forming a resplendent backdrop. Time to capture those important family photographs (and a few silly ones chucked in) and then a gentle wander with Cat and James to capture a few romantic pictures and a breather for them away from the madding crowd.

Back to the throng, and Cat throws her bouquet to the gathered excited few and its time to be called into the marquee for the wedding breakfast; Cat and James make their next grand entrance of the day into the marquee to the sound of the pipes again.

After dinner, the wedding speeches, much laughter and entertainment to behold, and then to the wedding cake and Cat and James make the first cut (to much applause!). A little break now, and time for everyone to catch their breath, before Cat and James make their last official entrance of the day and take to the dance floor to perform a fantastic and extravagant first dance rendition of The Hand Jive from the film Grease! :-)

Now it’s everyone else’s turn to take to the dance floor – its Ceilidh Time!! ;-)

My turn to leave, though …but what a fab day it’s been :-)

(We’re trying out a new gallery system for posting weddings on the blog. Hopefully it’ll make viewing them easier, faster and more fun – let us know what you think, good or bad!)

Pentille Castle Cornwall Wedding of Aimee & Luke

So a couple of weeks ago saw me pootle down to the fabulous Pentille Castle in Corwall for the wedding of Aimee and Luke. A lovely Autumnal day, warm with a trickle of yellow sunshine, perfect weather for a wedding :-)

Upstairs to find Aimee and her entourage first and some Bridal preaprations before heading downstairs to catch up with Luke and his best man. A wander with Luke through the grounds and down to the river Dart and the Bathing Hut (more like a large Stone built boat house, which I find out later was actually used as a school house in a previous life!) the scene for todays ceremony, lovely. Soon it was time for Aimee to arrive and make her grand entrance….a lovely and touching ceremony followed and the new Mr & Mrs Everitt exited into the Autumn sunshine. A lovely walk with Aimee and Luke up through the woods with fantastic views back over the river Dart and beyond back to Pentille Castle to be greeted by their family and friends and a shower of confetti!

Time to relax in the grounds now, champagne and canapes, croquet and boules, good conversation and laughter. Time to capture the few family formal photographs and then a liitle wander with Aimee and Luke around Pentille Castles fabulous and extensive grounds (although we didn’t cover the whole of the some 1900 acres! ;-) ) to capture a few romantic images for the album.

Almost time to head inside for the wedding breakfast, but first the traditional speeches but outside on the terrace, a very nice change. No cake to cut today, so after dinner and a little more socialising around the Castle before it was time for Aimee and Luke to take to the dance floor for the official first dance.

Another very lovely day :-)

Harry Warren House Dorset Wedding of Rebecca & Alex Part 2…Jewish ceremony & Greek dancing

Oh what a day!!

So yesterday saw me attend Rebecca and Alex’s official legal ceremony in Poole! Today, another story all together.

A lovely day, despite the weather forecasters predictions of doom and gloom and off to Studland to a local B&B to catch up with Rebecca for the usual bridal preparations. Done, and a short trip down the road to the very fabulous Harry Warren House which sits in an enviable position atop the cliffs in Studland, with stunning views accross the sea and to Poole, Bournemouthy and the Isle of Wight. Today’s location for celebrations, and what a fabulous location too!

Meeting up with Alex, soon guests start to arrive and then its time to take their place in the natural ampitheatre the scene for the ceremony to come. Sandra from Heartfelt ceremonies our celebrant for today, is soon ready under the Chuppa with the waiting Alex and then all eyes turn to watch Rebecca on her fathers arm process through the lovely gardens to finaly meet up with her man.

A wonderful ceremony a mixture of the Jewish and Greek traditions, ending with the stamping of the wine goblet…MAZELTOV! :-)

Relaxation in the wonderful grounds of Harry warren House now, and then a cream tea for all whilst soaking up the wonderful sunshine and looking out over the beautiful blue sea.

Time to capture a few family photographs for me and then a few quieter ones with just Rebecca and Alex.

All too soon its time to head into the marquee for the wedding breakfast. First course done and everyone is back up and to the dance floor, Jewish and Greek dancing, Rebecca and Alex are lifted aloft in chairs and everyone cheers.

Back to the meal and then the official cutting of the wedding cake, speeches follow and again its time for everyone to take to the dance floor. This time though it is to watch Rebvecca and Alex take their first proper dance together as man and wife. Now everyone else can join them and dance the night away…what a fab day its been :-)

Here are just a few of my favourites from Rebecca and Alex’s wonderful clifftop wedding at the fab Harry Warren House in Studland Poole Dorset….

Poole wedding of Rebecca & Alex Part 1…a boat a walk & a civil ceremony!

A sunny Friday afternoon saw me take a little trip down to the Quay side in Poole to wait for a boat! Well not just any boat of course, but the boat carrying Rebecca and Alex who who were getting married at the Guildhall later that day. As promised the said boat arrived at the quay on time greeted by a small number of family and friends and Rebecca and Alex disembarked to make their gentle walk through Poole Old Town, to marry at the Guildhall.

Today’s ceremony is the legal requirements that Rebecca and Alex must make, the next day’s ceremony and full day’s wedding celebrations at the lovely Harry Warren House in Studland will be of Rebecca and Alex’s personal making and quite a mixture too! ;-)

Here are just a few pictures from the first part of Rebecca and Alex’s wedding celebrations…
