Hi Courtenay

Our favourite photo is this one…

We love it because we it captures the setting of our wedding and the time of year perfectly, blossom everywhere!

Our Top Tips.

.?Tip 1-Research your venue and do not pay your deposit until you are 100% sure that it is perfect for your big day. Just because it looks nice this does not mean that you will end up with your perfect wedding. Ask friends, family and people linked to the wedding industry to share their knowledge of the venue with you. Wedding forums on the internet can be useful for information regarding venues.

2 – If you want to try to keep your costs down in certain areas consider buying ready made invites from good stationers and have them print the text in your choice of words and font. We chose some Vera Wang blank invites and had the store print them for us. We ended up with stunning invites without the huge price tag.

3 – Make sure you spend time in the run up to the wedding having some serious pampering. Facials, body wraps, massages will help you relax and feel special. If you look after your skin your make up will go on more evenly and you will be positively glowing. You are getting married so don’t just think about the day, food, guests. Stop and think about yourself.

See you soon

So Friday saw me heading off to Montacute just outside Yeovil to find the lovely Marnie who was getting ready for her big day at her mum’s house. The atmosphere was almost serene, which is not always the case in the preparation suite of the bride to be! But Marnie was very relaxed indeed, and the morning flowed gently by until it was my time to head off to Summer Lodge in Evershot Dorset the venue for the day’s events.

On arrival at Summer Lodge I caught up with Ben (the Groom) and Martin his best man already suited and booted looking very smart. Button holes soon firmly attached, guest were now all on the scene and the registrars had arrived, time for Ben and everyone to head inside to ready for the ceremony. Marnie soon arrived at Summer Lodge accompanied by her step father who was giving her away, she looked very elegant indeed and was eager to find her way to her husband to be.

Time at last for the ceremony: Marnie processed in, preceded by one of her children who was carrying the wedding bands on a floral cushion, and at last she was by Ben’s side. A beautiful touching ceremony followed, the formal legal documents signed and soon, Marnie and Ben exited into the sunlight Mr and Mrs Lavery at last.

Champagne in the lovely Summer Lodge gardens, mingling with close family and friends a very relaxed atmosphere indeed. A few family formal photographs and then Marnie, Ben and I slipped away for a few quiet moments to capture a few intimate romantic images for their album.

Time to head back indoors for the wedding breakfast, this was then followed by the traditional wedding speeches and of course the cutting of the wedding cake. After the formalities were over Marnie, Ben and I slipped away again just to capture a few more beautiful images before it was my time to leave. A very lovely day, a very lovely couple.

Summer Lodge Hotel Dorset Wedding of Anne & Brinsley

Anne and Brinsley are a really lovely couple and it was a pleasure to capture their special day for them. Being some of my more mature clients, Anne and Brinsley have found each other a little later in life than most of us, but none the less the love that they share is as strong as anyone I have met. Anne and Brinsley both live in Scotland and indeed Anne is very Scottish indeed, however they both decided to travel South to marry in Brinsleys family Church, which by looking at the plaques inside, has been the family seat for many generations. Their wedding was a very small affair, just a few family and friends attended, but the atmosphere was fun, relaxed, freindly and very full of love.
The day itself was a typical English winter day in December, a little damp, quite grey and overcast but fairly mild. I met Brinsley at the Church followed shortly by his best man, both in excellent spirits and looking forward to the day ahead.
Keeping with tradition Anne and her entourage arrived 10 minutes late! Still, there was no hurry, and soon Anne was parading down the Isle to marry Brinsley. A lovely service followed, both Anne and Brinsley took the readings and after their vows, exited triumphantly into the December weather outside.
Off to Summer Lodge Hotel for the reception, a few family photo’s and then a little wander with Anne and Brinsley in the lovely grounds to catch a few special intimate images.
A lovely intimate wedding, with a very large warm welcome, I was almost sad to leave…but with four small people at home eagerly awaiting their Daddy to start the Christmas holidays with them in the end, well lets just say it was no competition.
Congratulations Anne and Brinsley, it was a pleasure, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
