Harbour Heights Dorset Wedding of Sarah & Mada

You can now view Sarah & Mada’s Harbour Heights Wedding Album over on the main Wedding Photography site if you click here!
Another fantastic day ( a few squally showers around but nothing to worry about) for a wedding. My first port of call today is to Sarah’s family home in Ringwood, to capture the dress details, shoes, flowers etc. Its then down to Bournemouth to find the Girls being pampered (hair make-up etc) at Scissors Salon. Next I move on to the boys not very far away, Mada and his groomsmen very smart all dressed in white. I spend a little time with the boys before moving on again to the Church St Andrews on Richmond Hill where the ceremony is to take place. Soon guests are arriving and the colours of dress is fantastic – it is good to note here that Mada and his family are from Malawi.
Just as Sarah pulls up at the church, the heavens open (typical!) but she is soon inside and down the aisle to the waiting Mada. The ceremony over Sarah and Mada enter into beautiful sunshine and a hail of confetti! Its over to Bournemouth Gardens for a few family formals and then time to move on again, this time to the reception venue the lovely Harbour Heights Hotel in Poole.
Drinks and Canapes on the sun deck and then in for the lovely meal and speeches. Now Sarah Mada and I get a chance to slip away for a few quiet moments and some romantic pictures for their album. We are driven down to Sandbanks, and spend a little while relaxing on the beach watching the summer sun gradually sinking towards the horizon. All too soon its time to head back to the reception, the first dance an evening barbecue and more friends arriving. A hectic but fantastic day!

Chewton Glen & Harbour Heights Hampshire & Dorset Wedding of Rachel & Darren

Rachel and Darren’s ceremony and wedding breakfast took place at the fantastic Chewton Glen Hotel in Hampshire. This part of the day was a small family affair with just 30 people attending. Rachel and Darren have been together for a while and have a couple of lovely daughters who acted as Rachel’s bridesmaids (they looked just beautiful in their pink dresses!). Rachel was very nervous before the ceremony but the nerves soon vanished as the couple exchanged their vows. After the ceremony itself, the whole family relaxed on the terrace overlooking the lovely gardens and enjoyed Pimms, canapes and Champagne – a beautiful Summers day. Rachel and Darren took a little quiet time out to accompany me for some romantic shots in the fabulous grounds, and then returned to join their families for a lovely relaxed meal. The speeches followed which were emotional and hilarious alike.

It was then off to the Harbour Heights Hotel in Sandbanks Poole Dorset (a venue I attend regularly) for the evening reception and time to catch up with Darren and Rachel’s friends; all 150 of them! A fantastic evening barbecue on the terraces with the stunning views over Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island, and a brilliant covers band that kept the wedding rocking until the late hours.
All in all a fantastic day was had by all.

Harbour Heights Hotel Dorset Wedding of Jen & Andy

Jen got ready at home on the first wet Saturday of the year – but was determined not to let the break in the weather spoil the day. As I arrived at the church the clouds burst, and big fat rain just sheeted down. The road outside the church was flooded within minutes, practically all the way to the church door, and I was starting to think I’d have Jens dad carrying her from the car. Thankfully the floodwaters drained away very quickly, and by the time Andy arrived the waters were gone, leaving Jen to make her grand church entrance in style.
Andy was very nervous as he waited for Jen, but seemed to relax as she arrived. Jen waited till she got her vows out the way before turning to the congregation and breathing a very theatrical sigh of relief!
Harbour Heights was the reception venue for the second week running, but instead of the beach Jen and Andy decided to use the clifftop for their portrait images, which made a nice change. The wind was blowing a hooly up there, which meant some great veil shots before it wrapped itself tightly around Andy and refused to let go.

Harbour Heights Hotel Dorset Wedding of Caroline & Robin

Caroline and Robin were the first of a run of weddings I have down on the Poole coast. I enjoy these hotels as the light is always great, and the beach provides so many great opportunities not usually available in town hotels.
Caroline and Robin are such a great couple – really warm and friendly. Caroline got ready at her Mums house, but I had the opportunity to catch the boys in the morning at Harbour Heights as well, which is always nice to add to the story of the day.
The huge sky-blue Buick which Caroline traveled to church in was a great surprise – and just a gift for a photographer on a sunny day. As All Saints in Branksome is a little restrictive for photographers, I was able to spend a happy ten minutes during the service gloating over all the chrome with the chauffeur :) Whilst outside I bumped into next weeks couple Jen & Andy, who had come to recce the church ‘in action’!
It was a beautiful evening weather-wise, and the view from the patio across Poole harbour is always special at sunset.
