Here is Rebecca and Mark…

Hi Courtenay

Our favourite picture has to be this one…

I don’t think it needs an explanation do you?

Our Top Tips

1. Keep family involvement to a minimum- ask your friends to do the helping and organising. They won’t wind you up!

2. Use professionals recommended by professionals who have worked with them. We picked the venue first and the owner of the hotel gave us the best recommendation of all (our photographer!). They can also give you plenty of advice if you ask for it- Trust them!

3. Let the bride have her way on everything else!?? ;-)

Love Rebecca and Mark

Gordleton Mill Hampshire Wedding of Rebecca & Mark

So the other day I headed off to Gordleton Mill in Hampshire for the wedding of Rebecca and Mark. The day started out a bit patchy with the odd light shower, sunny bits in between, hoping the day is going to stay fine as Gordleton Mill have a licence to marry outside on the veranda which is very lovely. Arriving at the Mill just after a very heaver shower (oh,Oh!) I head straight up to Rebecca’s room to cover the usual morning preparations. Soon we are joined by the most gorgeous little bridesmaids, a grand old age of 3 years each, looking very beautiful in their little white dresses with pearly head bands. Eventually prep time is over and I leave Rebecca looking lovely in her wedding gown waiting for the visit from the registrars to head downstairs to find Mark the Groom.

Looks like I’m in luck, the clouds have cleared, we have beautiful blue skies and warm early summer sunshine. I head out onto Gordleton Mills lovely Mill stream veranda and find Mark and his best man Dave patiently waiting for the forthcoming proceedings. Guest have now taken their places in seats along the waters edge and are also eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Bride. At last Rebecca, her father and their entourage of Bridesmaids and page boy  make their way downstairs and head out into the gardens, and gradually process towards the waiting Groom, Mark.

A lovely ceremony filled with laughter, the official registers signed, Rebecca is presented with the marriage certificate and soon Mr and Mrs Britton are exiting to the lovely gardens of Gordleton Mill, husband and wife!

Warm summer sun, beautiful meandering riverside gardens full of wonderful colours and smells, Pimms and strawberries and the gentle rippling of laughter combine to make the perfect afternoon. A few family formal pictures quickly captured and then Rebecca, Mark and I, slip away from the crowd for a little quiet time and to capture some romantic images for their album.

All too soon, its time to head indoors for the wedding breakfast, the sun is now low behind the trees and dusk is upon us. A delightful meal, followed by the traditional wedding speeches and of course the cutting of the wedding cake.

After dinner our evening entertainment arrive and begin to set up, the bar fills and the evening  jolliment begins. Rebecca, Mark and I use this opportunity to disappear again for 5 minutes to capture a few more intimate images and then it’s time to go back inside the Mill where their band for the evening is waiting for them. To the dance floor then, and the first official dance as Mr and Mrs Britton, the band then kicks in and the floor fills to rock the night away.

Another lovely day, another lovely couple, I love my job :-)

A few of my favourites from the day…

Gordleton Mill Hampshire Wedding of Christine & Daniel

A lovely sunny day, not too hot but just right for a wedding. Off to see the boys first today and I arrive at Daniels parents house (in Ferndown Dorset) to find the preparations in full swing. I am familiar with this house as I covered Daniels sister Emma’s wedding at The Haven a couple of years ago.
Boy preps done, off to Gordleton Mill in Hampshire famous it seems not only for its beauty, food and very warm reception, but a duck called Crispie! On arrival I go up to the honeymoon suite to find the lovely Christine, who is also in full preparation swing.
All preps now done I head downstairs and out into the lovely gardens to where the ceremony is to take place. Christine and Daniel have already officially ‘tied the knot’ the day before at the local registry office, just the formalities (legal bits!). Today Christine and Daniel are going to have a more personal humanist ceremony for family and close friends.
Guests and family start to arrive and soon it is time for everyone to take their places for the ceremony. Christine looks a picture of loveliness as she is escorted by her father across the gardens to her waiting man Daniel. A touching and personal ceremony follows and soon Mr and Mrs Marston proudly exit down their garden aisle.
Drinks canapes, a few family formals and some quiet shots with the happy couple, the afternoon meanders through its intended path, everyone enjoying the sunshine and relaxed atmosphere.
Indoors now, speeches, a lovely meal and the official cutting of the cake. Evening guests begin to arrive and the time draws near for Christine and Daniels first dance as man and wife. Now the party begins in earnest and its my time to leave. A wonderful relaxed, beautiful wedding, I wouldn’t have expected anything else from Christine and Daniel – I wish them all the happiness in the world.
