Beaulieu Hampshire Wedding of Jenny & Adam

Saturday was another lovely sunny warm summers day and I was off to shoot the wedding of Jenny and Adam at The Domus at Beaulieu in Hampshire. But first to Jenny’s family home in Burley to capture the usual morning girls preparations… and then time to move on to Beaulieu for the rest of the day’s celebrations.

Upon arriving at Beaulieu I caught up with Adam and his family all who have all come over from the United States of America (yes Adam is from the USA!) and soon everyone was bustled inside to await the arrival of the Bride.

Jenny arrived at Beaulieu in a lovely vintage car made her declarations known to the registrars and soon began the procession down the aisle to her waiting Groom. A lovely ceremony and then Mr and Mrs Thomas-Dray exited into the Domas courtyard and summer sun, man and wife at last.

Laughter, champagne, canapes and fun on a lovely lazy summers afternoon, a few family formal and then some quiet time away from the madding crowd for Jenny and Adam to capture a few more romantic images for the album.

Time to head back into the Domus for the wedding breakfast followed by the cutting of the wedding cake and the official wedding speeches. Whilst the room upstairs was turned around for the evening Jenny Adam and I took the opportunity to make the most of the balmy summers evening and wander down to the estuary river for a few more romantic images and to catch a nice little welcome breeze!

Time to head back to the Domus again and Jenny and Adam took to the dance floor for their first official dance as man and wife.

Another lovely day :-)

Beaulieu Hampshire Wedding of Jan & Malcolm

Saturday saw me head into the New Forset for the wedding of Jan and Malcolm. First stop the Crown Hotel in Lyndhurst to meet up with Jan for the traditional Bridal preparations. Next onto the main venue for today’s events, the very lovely Domus at Beaulieu, where I met up with Malcolm and the boys.

Soon Jan was with us at Beaulieu arriving in style in a lovely vintage Rolls Royce. A lovely ceremony and then out into the warm summer sunshine for a champagne and canapes reception; A few family formal pictures and a quiet wander with Jan and Malcolm, before heading back to the Domus for the Wedding breakfast. A wonderful meal over and a few short speeches, before a little time for the happy couple and guests to take a little wander into the fantastic Beaulieu Motor museum for a look round before returning to the Domus for afternoon tea accompanied by a solo singer and guitarist.

Time to break again now and to quickly head down to the venue for the rest of the evening…Bucklers Hard and The Master Builders. A few romantic pictures with Jan and Malcolm down by the shore line and then my turn to head for home.

Congratulations Jan and Malcolm, I wish you happiness.

Beaulieu Hampshire Silver Wedding Anniversary of Pat & Alistair

So I was very pleased a little while ago to be asked to cover the silver wedding anniversary, of Pat and Alistair Asher. A couple of weeks ago one very sunny warm evening I drove down to Beaulieu in Hampshire to the wonderful Domus (the setting for this evenings events) where I found Pat and Alistair ready to greet their guests for an evening of celebration to mark 25 years of wonderful marriage. Pat and Alistair had decided to have their evening captured in my usual informal style as this sort of thing was just not available to them 25 years ago when they got married and they just wanted relaxed natural pictures of the proceedings.

A fine sunny evening then as I mentioned before, and soon the courtyard of the Domus was full of Pat and Alistair’s guests drinking Champagne, Pimms and enjoying good company and canapes. An hour or so of fun conversation and catching up with friends and family, it was then time to head into the Domus itself for a celebration meal. Before tucking into the scrumptious feast Alistair made a funny and touching speech regaling tales of his and Pat’s first meeting, subsequent wedding and the wonderful 25 years of marriage so far. After dinner, the band started up and everyone danced the night away, a lovely evening indeed, congratulations Pat and Alistair on 25 years of marriage.

A few images from the celebrations…

Beaulieu Hampshire Wedding of Lorna & David

Lorna and David are a lovely couple and it was a great pleasure to shoot their wedding. The day itself was a lovely sunny hot one, Lorna and the girls got ready at the nearby Cottage Lodge Hotel Hampshire which was a real laugh. One bride, four bridesmaids, one flower girl, one Mum, two makeup and hair artists, a large dress and veil, a four poster bed, all the things that go with such an occasion – makeup, champagne, makeup a photographer more makeup (not mine I hasten to add)… all in a room about 12 feet by 6 feet with a sloping ceiling! Well if you can’t be good friends after that, then…!

I arrived at Beaulieu Abbey Church to find myself greeted with the sounds of the piper, yes you guessed it, Davids side of the family are Scottish and a strong contingent had come down from (as David puts it) Gods Country! A small panic, the rings had been left back at the hotel – but a good man was put on the case and I am pleased to say they arrived in the nick of time with the bride being blissfully unaware – until the vicar let it out during the ceremony of course!

The day itself was a wonderful relaxed affair, the sun shone, the champagne flowed and everyone just strolled around the wonderful grounds of Beaulieu in Hampshire. The Domus had been beautifully decorated for the reception a hearty meal full of fun and laughter ensued and with the speeches that followed a few tears as well. The evening was topped off by a great band and after the touching first dance, Lorna, David, their friends and family danced the night away.

Another Great Day, what more could you ask for?
