Lorton House Dorset Wedding of Sabrina & Adam

Well what can I say!! Except to say this wedding was absolutely fabulous :-) I would love to show you every picture because there was just so much going on, so much fun, sooo many details, love and laughter. Unfortunately I can’t…I would blow up my blog, but below are just a few of my favourite images from the day, and don’t forget I will be posting a fab mood board from this wedding very soon with all those wonderful, wonderful details…watch this space!

Sabrina and Adam had a wonderful sunny day for their wedding. Starting off at the lovely Lorton House for the usual Bridal preparations, and then on to Bennetts Water Gardens in Weymouth for a lovely outdoor ceremony. Then Sabrina and her hubby Adam and I made our way down to Moonfleet on the Dorset coast to capture a few quite moments before proceeding back to Lorton House for the rest of the day’s festivites. Oh and what festivities…a lazer shoot, bouncy castle, Zorbing, live comedy act a fab band (& DJ of course), sparklers, fireworks and a fab solo/one man band to end the night…phew!!

Dinner in the marquee followed by the fab El-Loco comedy mime act and then time for the hilarious speeches. A little lul in proceedings allowing Sabrina and Adam to sneak off for a few more quite pictures and then back to the marquee for a very lovely and funny first dance! Time for the band Shooter to kick in and fill the dance floor, later a sparkler tunnel took us all outside to watch the brilliant fireworks and then time for the last act of the evening the great Bill Solo.

What an absolutely fabulous day!

Cheddar Gorge Somerset Wedding of Rebecca & James

Last Saturday I headed off to Cheddar Gorge in Somerset for the wedding of Rebecca & James.

I arrived at Rebecca’s family home, (the scene for the celebrations later in the day) for the usual Bridal preparations and then headed off to the Catholic Church in Cheddar to catch up with James and his merry men, oh and Best woman!

Soon Rebecca arrived at the church looking lovely and processed down the aisle to James, a lovely ceremony including Catholic Mass and communion and then back out into the glorious Autumn sunshine.

Off to the reception, a lovely large marquee in one of Rebecca’s families fields, a fantastic setting for a great day. Sunshine, canapes and champagne all washed down with laughter and outdoor games for the children, big and small!

A few family formals and some quieter moments for Rebecca and James and then time to head into the marquee for the wedding breakfast. After dinner the usual wedding speeches and then cutting of the scrumptious looking wedding cake. A little more gentle milling after dinner and then time to head back into the marquee for Rebecca and James first dance. The DJ then turned up the volume as well as the tempo and the dance floor filled and moved to the music. Time for our DJ to take a well earned rest, but no break in the entertainment as our band for the evening “Ouch” took over the proceedings and  the marquee rocked once more.

Rollestone Manor Wiltshire, Wedding of Sarah and Jon

So a bank holiday weekend and the usual threat of some rain, I better be carrying the brollies with me today! I’m off to find Sarah the lovely Bride who is readying at a friends house in Brigsmerton in Wiltshire, not very far away from the very famous Stone Henge. On arrival, I find we have quite a house full, still more the merrier and the rain has also begun to subside which is a bonus, fingers crossed! Bridal preps and usual details done I head off to the nearby village of Durrington and to the lovely All Saints Church, where I find Jon (the Groom) and his family and Best man – a few more nerves here I suspect. Still the rain seems to have completely cleared away now and we even seem to have some blue sky and sunny spells.

Soon it’s time for Jon, family and friends to make their way into the Church and take their places for the forthcoming ceremony. And not too soon either as Sarah arrives outside the Church gates and makes her way up to the Church doors with her Dad and Brother. The music plays and Sarah makes her way down the aisle to Jon and the lovely ceremony begins, hymns and readings and the marriage ceremony itself, then the signing of the registers and its time for Mr and Mrs Farrant to triumphantly make their exit into the …sunshine :-)

Away now to the village of Shrewton (near Stonehenge) and the the lovely Rollestone Manor, which is to be the setting for the rest of today’s festivities. Upon arrival, Sarah Jon and I slip away for a few quiet moments to capture some intimate portraits for their album, whilst the rest of their guests and family make their way to the venue. Soon everyone else has arrived at Rollestone Manor and its time to crack open the champagne and pass round the canapes. Rain makes an appearance again so everyone heads into the marquee for a while. Sunshine shows itself so it’s time to get those important family group shots done, so out into the gardens we go again, pictures done some time to enjoys the gardens before the next shower arrives.

Time to head into the Marquee again,  but this time for the wedding breakfast, then the touching and funny speeches followed by the traditional cutting of the wedding cake. Coffee and cake served and then the call from the DJ to Sarah and Jon to take to the dance floor, everyone gathers around and Mr and Mrs Farrant take their first dance steps as man and wife. Sarah and Jon are soon joined by other couples and then the tempo changes and the serious partying can begin, my time to say farewell. Well we missed the worst of the weather and besides it didn’t affect the celebrations and warmth of atmosphere one bit, another lovely day!

Plumber Manor Dorset Wedding of Michele & Tom

A cold slightly overcast but at least dry day, a shame because the sun has been shining so much recently, still I’m sure it won’t dampen any spirits. Today is the wedding of Michele and Tom and I am lucky because Tom’s family home (Plumber Manor) is right on my doorstep near Sturminster Newton in Dorset, no long journey’s for me today. Michele and Tom actually met and fell in love some 13 years ago, and today at last they get to declare and seal their love by finally getting married.
So, its off to Plumber Manor first to find Michele and the other girls and to cover the usual morning preparations and to capture those important details such as the dress, flowers and shoes etc. Time flies and soon it’s time for the short Journey back to Sturminster Newton itself and to St Mary’s Church where the ceremony is to be held. I park up and wander back toward the town as I am well aware that the boys have been holed up in the local Inn the Swan, I round the corner and lo and behold Tom and his army of Best men and Ushers are already heading towards me and St Mary’s. We walk back to the church together and soon more and more guests arrive and its time for Tom to go inside and take his place.
Michele soon arrives and its down the aisle to Tom to finally make their wedding vows. Outside again Mr and Mrs Prideaux-Brune at last! Tom and Michele climb into the family vintage Rolls and amid a torrid downpour of confetti head off back to Plumber Manor for their reception.
On arrival at Plumber manor guests are formally greeted and we then proceed from the marquee into the beautiful gardens to get those important family pictures. Group shots now over, the family and guests head back into the marquee, there is a definite chill in the air, Michele, Tom and I however take this opportunity to slip away for a few quiet moments and to capture a few more romantic images for their album.
Time for the wedding breakfast, in the beautifully decorated and lit marquee, followed by the traditional weeding speeches and of course the cutting of the wedding cake. Dark outside now, the gardens beautifully lit, its time for Michele and Tom to take to the dance floor for their first official dance as husband and wife. The DJ then steps up the tempo and the dance floor quickly fills and the real partying can begin. My time to leave, and in ten minutes, I will actually find my way to my own bed for a change! What a fantastic day.
