Maunsel House Somerset Wedding of Jayne & Paul

Last Thursday saw me heading back to the very lovely Maunsel House in Somerset for the wedding of Jayne and Paul. The sun was out a perfect warm sunny summers day, just right for an outdorrs wedding ceremony. On arrival I headed up to the Kings room to find Jayne and the girls, then off outside as Jayne was whisked away out the back door to arrive in style down Maunsels fab front drive in a lovely Horse and carriage. A lovely ceremony in the bandstand and then Jayne and Paul headed off for a little perambulation in their Horse and Carriage…and why not.
Arriving back to their awaiting guests, canapes and Pimms on the lawn, a few family formal photo’s and some quiet ones just for Jayne and Paul. All too soon its time to head into Maunsel House itself for the wedding breakfast followed by the traditional speeches, cutting of the wedding cheesecake! and of course coffee and mints to follow.
Time now for Jayne and Paul to take their first dance as husband and wife and then for me to leave the proceedings and let them dance the night away.

Maunsel House Somerset Wedding of Mel & Crispin

Last Monday saw me head back to the fabulous Maunsel House in Somerset for the wedding of Mel and Crispin.
A lovely sunny day, perfect for an outdoors ceremony. First upstairs to the Kings room for Bridal preparations and then back out into the gardens to the bandstand to join Crispin in waiting for his bride to arrive. A lovely ceremony, followed by pimms and canapes, the formal photographs and a quiet wander with Mel and Crispin for some romantic shots.
Back inside now for the wedding breakfast followed by the tradtional speeches, cutting of the cake and of course coffee and mints. All too soon its time for Mel and Crispin to take to the dance floor for their official first dance before the DJ can then step up the tempo for everyone to dance the night away.

Maunsel House Somerset Wedding of Nicola & Andrew

Saturday saw me heading back to the lovely Maunsel House in Somerset for the wedding of Nicola and Andrew, not quite so sunny but hopefully we would miss the showers!
First I joined the boys on the traditional Maunsel House Clay Pigeon shoot and then it was time to head to the King’s room to cover the Bridal preparations. A short journey to St Peters Church for the lovely ceremony and then back to Maunsel for the celebrations. A Saxophone and singer combo kept us entertained as we supped on fresh ice-cream from a vintage seller upon his bike and the sun came out in all the right places. A few formal photographs and a quiet wander with Nicola and Andrew to capture a few personal shots for their album.
Time to head inside for dinner and speeches followed by coffee and the cutting of the wedding cake and then to the dance floor for Nicola and Andrews first dance s man and wife.
Another great day full of wonderful little surprises and the weather behaved as well, choosing only to rain a little when we were indoors, perfect!

Saturday saw me heading off to one of my favourite venues for a wedding the fabulous Maunsel House in Somerset. Oh what a beautiful spring day, in fact with the temperatures in the mid 20′s it was more like summer.
I started the day with the boys on a clay pigeon shoot and then to the house for the usual preparations of the Bride. A beautiful outdoors ceremony in the bandstand and relaxing in the summer like sunshine with pimms and canapes all in the beautiful grounds of Maunsel House.
After some quiet time with just Lucy and Jon, time to head in for the wedding breakfast followed by the traditional speeches, coffee time and then the cutting of the wedding cake.
The band all set and raring to go, Lucy and Jon took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife.
Evening buffet a fantastic hog roast under the pergola set with twinkly fairy lights and then for the grand finale…a fab firework display.
All in all a wonderful day in a perfect setting!

Today I would like to introduce you to the lovely Kirsty from Maunsel House in Somerset. Maunsel House is one of my favourite venue’s for a wedding,not only is the location itself absolutely fab, the staff are extremely lovely too!

Here are my top tips on choosing a wedding venue:
Always a good idea to check out the back drop for photos make sure there are lots of different places to have photos taken. At Maunsel we not only have the lawns we also have lakes, bandstand, pergola and medieval yard to choose from and the magnificent tree lined drive is a spectacular setting for photographs as well as all the wonderful opportunities in the house. We always make photographers welcome and help them in any way we can to get the best shots of the day and recommend them coming to Maunsel to do a recce or indeed a pre- wedding shoot with us.
I think it is very important that you like and trust your wedding planner and other staff members at your venue. they are going to be with you on the day and a good wedding planner will take away all the stress and guide you through the minefield of planning a wedding. They will make suggestions and help you put together a running order for the day which means that nothing gets forgotten and is a great help when talking to suppliers.
At Maunsel we send out lots of hopefully helpful information to help brides and grooms as much as possible and this includes our recommendations list of suppliers like photographers, cake makers florists etc. we also send out a collection of suggested readings for ceremonies and our ready reckoner for drinks quantities so that if they opt to bring in their own alcohol they are not buying too much or too little! We have our local b+b/hotel guide,taxi list and Kirsty’s top tips on saving money on your wedding, which is always gratefully received!
