Beaulieu Hampshire Wedding of Jenny & Adam

Saturday was another lovely sunny warm summers day and I was off to shoot the wedding of Jenny and Adam at The Domus at Beaulieu in Hampshire. But first to Jenny’s family home in Burley to capture the usual morning girls preparations… and then time to move on to Beaulieu for the rest of the day’s celebrations.

Upon arriving at Beaulieu I caught up with Adam and his family all who have all come over from the United States of America (yes Adam is from the USA!) and soon everyone was bustled inside to await the arrival of the Bride.

Jenny arrived at Beaulieu in a lovely vintage car made her declarations known to the registrars and soon began the procession down the aisle to her waiting Groom. A lovely ceremony and then Mr and Mrs Thomas-Dray exited into the Domas courtyard and summer sun, man and wife at last.

Laughter, champagne, canapes and fun on a lovely lazy summers afternoon, a few family formal and then some quiet time away from the madding crowd for Jenny and Adam to capture a few more romantic images for the album.

Time to head back into the Domus for the wedding breakfast followed by the cutting of the wedding cake and the official wedding speeches. Whilst the room upstairs was turned around for the evening Jenny Adam and I took the opportunity to make the most of the balmy summers evening and wander down to the estuary river for a few more romantic images and to catch a nice little welcome breeze!

Time to head back to the Domus again and Jenny and Adam took to the dance floor for their first official dance as man and wife.

Another lovely day :-)

Beaulieu Hampshire Wedding of Jan & Malcolm

Saturday saw me head into the New Forset for the wedding of Jan and Malcolm. First stop the Crown Hotel in Lyndhurst to meet up with Jan for the traditional Bridal preparations. Next onto the main venue for today’s events, the very lovely Domus at Beaulieu, where I met up with Malcolm and the boys.

Soon Jan was with us at Beaulieu arriving in style in a lovely vintage Rolls Royce. A lovely ceremony and then out into the warm summer sunshine for a champagne and canapes reception; A few family formal pictures and a quiet wander with Jan and Malcolm, before heading back to the Domus for the Wedding breakfast. A wonderful meal over and a few short speeches, before a little time for the happy couple and guests to take a little wander into the fantastic Beaulieu Motor museum for a look round before returning to the Domus for afternoon tea accompanied by a solo singer and guitarist.

Time to break again now and to quickly head down to the venue for the rest of the evening…Bucklers Hard and The Master Builders. A few romantic pictures with Jan and Malcolm down by the shore line and then my turn to head for home.

Congratulations Jan and Malcolm, I wish you happiness.

Dartington Hall Devon Wedding of Jessica & Daniel

So last Saturday saw me heading down to a very sunny and hot Devon, to the fantastic Dartington Hall for the wedding of Jessica and Daniel.

Bridal preparations first and then a short walk to the lovely ceremony. Out into the warm early summer sunshine and into the fabulous gardens at Dartington Hall for Pimms and canapes all washed down with laughter and the sound of a Jazz band floating on the gentle summer breeze…perfect.

Time for some formal pictures, then Jess, Daniel and I went for a little wander in the beautiful gardens for some quiet time for them and some picture opportunities for me for their album. Back to the Hall for the wedding breakfast, speeches and the cutting of the wedding cake. The sun starting to set, painting a beautiful warm orange glow over proceedings, evening guests now starting to arrive and time for Jessica and Daniel to take to the dance floor for their official fist dance as Husband and wife.

The Priory Hertfordshire Wedding of Jaimie & Dill

Last week I tootled over to the lovely Priory ( a very olde barn) in Little Wymondley (fab name ;-) ) Hertfordshire for the wedding of Jaimie and Dill.

A bit of a changeable day, blustery a few light showers, but gradually the weather brightened and by the time the afternoon came round the sun came out and stayed with us. No Bridal preparations for me on this wedding, so straight to the venue to catch up with Dill and the boys and to capture all the arrivals, including Jaimie in style in her posh vintage car.

A lovely ceremony and we were off into the celebrations, cocktails and canapes, formal pictures, magic entertainment for the kids (big and small!) and then Jaimie, Dill and I slipped away for some quiet pictures.

The wedding breakfast, followed by the funny speeches and then outside again and another little wander with the happy couple making the most of the lovely evening sunshine. Time to head back to the barn as the band are waiting and Jaimie and Dill take to the dance floor for their first dance.

Fantastic day :-)

Real Bride Wedding Top Tips

Today’s Top Tips and favourite picture come’s from Adrianna & Roy Stainwright – Shearer.

Adrianna and Roy were married on the 20th August last year at Highgate House in Northamptonshire and had a fabulous good old fashioned afternoon Tea party. You can read all about Adrianna and Roy’ Highgate House Wedding story on our Blog, and to see their Northampton Wedding album, check out our wedding Venue’s page.

Here is Adrianna….

Hi Courtenay

This is by far my favourite picture because of the story it tells.

(Adrianna looking out of the window of the honeymoon suite at Highgate House in Northamptonshire)

To me this picture is saying im a ready confident bride (and its almost like im looking down onto my wedding day from the bridal suite) the curtains drawn back and my how my hands are placed on my hips also express this. Couldn’t compliment the photography more. The lighting in this picture is amazing.
Three tips for wedding planning
1. Its your day – if you want mountains and rainfalls have mountains and rainfalls don’t settle for what others would like or prefer. Its your day – they should be honoured to be apart of what ever you choose
2. Choose a dress that speaks you. Don’t pick a dress because you think its in fashion or makes your boobs look big. Pick something that you feel amazing and thats comfortable (nothing worse than a bride with popping out boobs!) A dress should compliment your figure and express who you are.
3. Share the planning and compromise with your partner. I shared all the decorating ideas with my husband (even though he wasn’t specifically involved) Its really important to at least include them even if its just showing it to them. If they don’t seem to be fazed then at least you’ve done your part.

Best wishes

Adrianna and Roy

Kingston Maurward Dorset Wedding of Chloe & Tim

Last Sunday I headed off to Kingston Maurward just outside Dorchester in Dorset for the wedding of Chloe and Tim. No Bridal preps for me today, Chloe just asked me to start with images of her friends and family arriving at Kingston Maurward. I met Tim outside, who was a bit nervous, but soon guests were arriving to help take his mind off things. Eventually it was the turn of Chloe to arrive and Tim met her outside himself.

Guests now seated in the Pengelly Suite stood to the arrival of Tim and Chloe together processing down the aisle to wed. A touching ceremony, the traditional signing of the register and then out into the beautiful gardens of Kingston Maurward for canapes and Pimms.

A few family formals achieved then Tim, Chloe and I slipped away for ten minutes to capture some more intimate pictures for their album and then it was time to head back indoors for the wedding breakfast.

After the meal a few short speeches and then the traditional cutting of the wedding cake, time to leave this room and head out for coffee and cake. Evening guests now arriving in numbers and soon its time to head back into the marquee room for the official first dance for Chloe and Tim, after which the band kicks in and everyone dances the night away.
