Lovely wedding last week at the fab Maunsel House in Somerset a venue I always enjoy working at. Unfortunately the weather was having none of it, a very drab grey cold and wet day it was indeed. Still no matter because inside it was warm, warm and happy a very lovely atmosphere indeed. Lucy and Malcolm have actually been together for some time, in fact almost 17 years … since their 6th form years to be precise wow! They have three very beautiful and genuinely fab children… a real lovely little family. Time to make their marriage vows at last, and that was what today was all about… the icing on the cake.
And that was exactly the way the day was, fab from begining to end, a very relaxed and lovely family affair with a fair sprinkling of very good and close friends to share the happiness. Lucy and Malcom did an amazing job on their wedding, stretching their budget to incredibly inventive lengths by getting creative and doing nearly all the work themselves. Lucy’s sister Ginnie spent a year collecting vintage brooches for the stunning bridal bouquet, and on the morning of the wedding Lucy spent some time putting her bridemaids flowers together. The reception was a fab vintage high tea, with quirky mismatched crockery all set off with stunning colour theme of teal with peacock feathers. The weather outside didn’t matter, in fact no one even noticed it, inside it was a summers day!
There was one first for me however…the first time I have actually had to ‘superglue (yes you heard that right, superglue) a Bride into her shoes!! I would so have loved to have seen how that one worked out later It worked though…those shoes stayed firmly on Lucy’s feet all day, even when she and Malcom took to the floor to wow us with their rendition of the classic dance by Vince and Mia from Pulp Fiction!
Lucy and Malcom… thank you for allowing me to share your very fab day, I wish you both all the happiness for the future.
