Off to the reception to be held in the Orangery at Margham Park near Swansea (I’m told this venue is on the UK’s most haunted property list!). On the way however we stop on the beautiful Welsh coastline opposite the Mumbles (which hold a significance for Josie and Alistair) for a few pictures and a glass of champagne!
Soon we reached Margham Park, where most of the guests had already arrived, where canapes and more champage were served. I had been keeping an eye on the weather all day as forecasters had said a low front was on its way! Up until now everything had behaved, but now the sky was starting to lose its blue colour for more of a grey tone and I knew it wouldn’t be long. So with that in mind, I called time for the few family formals and then Josie, Alsistair and I took a little wander to give them a little catch up time and to capture a few quiet moments for their album.
Back inside the Orangery, and just in time too, the heavens opened….good old fashioned Welsh rain! Time for the reception meal, followed by the cutting of the wedding cake and of course the traditional speeches.
A chocolate fountain arrived and was duly set up for the evening and the DJ also started to play background sounds. Evening guests started to arrive and the atmosphere changed again to a more party feel. Soon it was time for Josie and Alistair to take to the dance floor for their first dance and everyone gathered around.
The DJ then kicked up the tempo and the serious partying began, my time to leave. What a great day with lovely people in lovely deepest darkest Wales!
