Evershot Dorset Wedding of Rhian & Mark

Rhian and Mark are a fabulous couple and it was a pleasure to capture their wedding for them. A beautiful sunny day, I headed to Greenfields in Holywell (Rhians family home), where she and her party were getting ready and also where the marquee had been erected in one of the paddocks ready for the reception. Preparations were a relatively calm and peaceful affair, the day had started perfectly. I wandered to and fro from the house to the marquee capturing all the details and general goings on whilst Rhians famous Dexter cows looked on, totally unfazed by the whole event. Rhian is training to be a vet, she is also (I was later to find out in the speeches) a Dexter Judge, so has a very strong connection to the countryside and a real English country wedding this was going to be.
Off to the Church, St Osmunds in Evershot, Mark and his band of merry men including Richard Branson his best man, all freshly revived from the pub and raring to go, a quick chat with the Rev John Rennie (a true gent and a scholar) and I was all set too.
Rhian arrived looking absolutely stunning; down the aisle to meet her husband to be. Rhian’s dog Bubbles played her part by bringing the rings down the aisle in a special bag at the appropriate time, Rhian called and Bubbles obeyed! A very novel idea and one which helped raise a few laughs and settled if there were any (although none on show) a few nerves.
Married and triumphant Rhian and Mark exited the Church into the warm summer sunshine, a few family group shots followed at the church and then we were off. Rhian and Mark and the immediate wedding party headed for a friends house, the Manor in Beaminster for some beautiful portrait shots and a little quiet time – I have to say that the back drop was simply stunning. The rest of the guests headed back to Greenfields for a champagne reception.
Soon Rhian and Mark and the wedding party joined the rest of their guests at Greenfields (oh yes I came along too), a wonderful meal followed and speeches full of laughter and love.
As the sun began to set on a truly wonderful day, more guests began to arrive for the evening festivities (and quite a few camping over I understand) The disco kicked in and the dancing began, what a fantastic day.

To Rhian and Mark and your family – thank you so much for your hospitality, I felt very welcome, it was a great day and I wish you all the happiness for the future. Looking forward to your trash the dress session already Rhian!

Don’t forget to leave your comments below for Rhian and Mark who I know will enjoy reading them.
